I am not the conventional holistic practitioner and I realize that surprises people at first. I have always been what most would call a healthy person. Other than the pregnancy of my daughter, I have never been hospitalized with an illness or injury. I have never had a chronic disease, and even with family history, I have never had diabetes, hypertension, heart disease, addiction, or cancer. So what am I doing here you ask? Well it was the little things that turned into big things. When I was younger my biggest problem was menstrual related which at times would weaken me to the point that I was immobile. As I got older, career related stress and fatigue set in. After my daughter was born I experienced a change with my skin resulting in horrible scar tissue, a bout of depression, and of course a change in what I could eat and drink. In 2019 I was car #3 of a 6 car pile up that left my pain management doctor saying the only thing that could help me was surgery. Surgery was unthinkable for a person like myself who only got prescriptions filled if they were an absolute must. When people around me suffered an illness it didn't just bother me. I obsessed over it. I researched it. I wanted to know every word that was said at the doctors visit, what every prescription was for, and most importantly, what caused it and what cured it. I know there are many things we don't know the cause of, and certainly things that have no cure; but I've always believed that God put a cure on this earth for everything that ails us. Through study and research I always found myself taking a class here and there for this or that. Everything that fascinated me came back to two things. We can prevent most of what ails us through diet and exercise. The key is to focus on prevention so we don't have to worry about treatment or cure. I'm a student by nature. If it's a topic that I am interested in and equally as good at, such as holistic medicine, I pour into it. Learning and helping others from what I have learned gives me great joy. Being able to share helpful information with my community is one of the most fulfilling assignments God has placed on my life.
